Equal Voice National Capital Youth Chapter is a multi-partisan subsidiary of Equal Voice whose aims are to foster an environment in which more women are elected to all levels of government in Canada and to provide opportunities for young women to gain political experience and become involved in the political process.
It also organizes a youth Experiences Program compromised of 3 parts:
(A) Parliamentary Program
• Participants will be able to attend House of Commons, Senate and Joint Committee meetings
• Participants will be briefed and debriefed by female committee members
• Participants will have the opportunity to attend Question Period, and observe House of Commons Scrums
(B) Engagement Program
Participants may attend parliamentary events such as:
• Receptions
• Partisan Parties
• Multi-partisan parties
These will allow participants to network and engage with politicians and policy makers.
(C) Internship Program
Participants must apply to be a part of this program. They will be paired with a female politician, lawyer, or policy-maker, for whom they will work on a volunteer basis. Participants have the option of a weekly commitment or shadowing an employer for a day.
